Act 01 · The daily return
Determination
Every day, the hand returns
Showing up at the table long after the textbook closed — the quiet discipline that turns a hobby into a life.

The Artist
From sketchbook to gallery — works that carry devotion, memory and the soft insistence of a life lived in colour.

Her Story
Every artist has an origin story, and mine didn’t begin in a studio — it began at a kitchen table, with a pencil and a biology textbook I had long since stopped reading for its intended purpose. Armed with a background in biology, I discovered an aptitude for drawing almost by accident: the diagrams I copied by hand taught me that I could see, and that seeing could be translated onto paper.
After becoming a mother of two, I returned to art with new purpose. What had been a hobby became a practice. I focused first on my favourite subject — portraiture — and committed to drawing every day, even when the days were long.
Three words still carry the work: determination, desire, dedication.
I refused to confine myself to a single medium. Rather than a weakness, that restlessness became the spine of my practice. I let each surface teach me — the soft drag of charcoal, the luminous wash of watercolour, the patient layering of coloured pencil.
Nine mediums, one hand: acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, graphite, coloured pencil, pastel, ballpoint pen, fabric painting on sarees, blouses and textiles, and oil on canvas. Fluency across all of them deepens every choice I make — because each one teaches me something the others cannot.
The Creed
Three words · One practice
Not a motto on the wall — the spine of every canvas, every return to the table. Determination. Desire. Dedication.

Act 02 · The pull to make
Feeling before formula
A need to translate what is seen into something held — faces, colour, fabric, the soft insistence of a story on the wall.

Act 03 · The patient hand
Layer by patient layer
Nine mediums, one practice — charcoal, watercolour, oil, fabric and more, each layer teaching what the others cannot.

Collector Voices
What collectors, friends and institutions say about living with the work.
“I am no connoisseur of Art. But being a Psychiatrist by profession, I believe that Emotions are at the very core of our Human Existence. And True Art begins from the Emotions of the Artist, which in this case is Vibhuti Mehta, and ends in churning up the Emotions within the viewers. Vibhuti is indeed a very rare gifted Artist. She serves a purpose assigned to her by the Gods above, of conjuring up joy, hope and belonging, in a world fast becoming mechanical and robotic.”
“I had a dream of keeping an artistic and large Navkar Mantra, Asht Mangal and the Swapn that the mother of Tirthankar Bhagwan sees before giving birth to them. I was not getting exactly what I wanted. Then I got to know about Vibhuti. I described what I wanted and was surprised when she created it exactly how I wanted. This is my perfect wall piece and a statement to my home. Thanks to Vibhuti everybody who visits my place asks where I got this superb Wall piece from.”
“I had the pleasure of experiencing the artistic brilliance of my friend Vibhuti, and I must say that her painting left me utterly spellbound. The painting she created of Shri Guru Nanak ji occupies a prominent place in my home, and we pray to it everyday! I'm not only impressed by her technical skill but also moved by the depth of expression embedded in every stroke. Vibhuti has succeeded in creating a masterpiece that resonates on both a visual and emotional level.”
“Amazing art of an amazing artist! I have known Vibhuti for over 17 years now and can only say that it's amazing what someone's determination and passion can achieve. Every piece of work of hers tells a story that defines her imagination, her creativity, her love for art and above all, her principles in life. She not only delivers up to the client's expectation but goes above and beyond in adding a meaning and life to the artwork.”
